Sparkling Smiles
Preventative Dentistry: Pediatric dental care at our office helps set your child on the path to a lifetime of healthy smiles. With a focus on prevention, education, and gentle care, our team supports proper oral development while reducing the need for future treatment — so your child can stay healthy and focus on being a kid.
First Visit
We know choosing someone to care for your child’s smile is an important decision, and we understand that dental visits can feel intimidating for both children and parents. Our team is gentle, patient, and focused on creating a comfortable, positive experience for every family.
Your child’s first visit is all about their comfort, safety, and oral health. We strive to make it enjoyable and memorable, helping your child feel confident and excited about their smile.
The first appointment typically includes a gentle cleaning, a thorough exam with Dr. Julie, and X-rays if needed. Dr. Julie will answer your questions and discuss your child’s individual oral health needs, providing personalized care and a strong foundation for a lifetime of healthy smiles.
Exams and Cleanings
Pediatric cleanings and exams are simple and similar to those for adults. At the appointment your child will have their teeth and gums gently cleaned, then Dr. Julie will examine their mouth and any x-rays to check for potential oral health or developmental concerns.
During the visit, you’ll have time to discuss your child’s oral development, at-home care and hygiene, and how nutrition and diet support a healthy smile.
Fluoride
Fluoride treatments are an easy and gentle way to help keep your child’s teeth strong and cavity-free. After their cleaning, we’ll apply a fluoride-rich varnish or gel, which helps restore minerals to the enamel. This “remineralization” process keeps teeth strong and more resistant to decay, so your little one can keep smiling bright!
Sealants
Dental sealants use a transparent liquid resin, which is applied directly to the teeth and hardened using a UV light. This creates an impenetrable seal on your child’s tooth, which stops bacteria, acid, and food particles from causing cavities. This treatment is usually recommended for cavity-prone posterior (back) teeth.
Space Maintainers
As your child grows, their baby teeth naturally fall out to make room for adult teeth. But if they fall out too early, it can lead to orthodontic issues. That’s why we offer space maintainers — small dental appliances that keep the gap open so surrounding teeth don’t shift, helping your child’s adult teeth come in properly.
